Strategist

Sonder is the realisation that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. In short: everyone has a story. At Sonder & Tell, we apply that thinking to brand strategy. Every brand has a narrative to share with the world. We help them find it, then tell it. 

We’re looking for a brand strategist to join our team at Sonder & Tell who can take clients on a journey to find that story and give them the confidence to tell it. Through our storybook positioning workshops you’ll guide founders, marketing directors, brand managers to solving the challenges they face as a brand. You’ll identify rich strategic territories, then work with our S&T writers to build the creative world they need to succeed. 

We’re looking for someone with the curiosity to pull in a wide range of cultural references, interests and influences to build brands and the confidence to deliver workshops and think on their feet.  If that’s you, we’d like to hear from you.

The Role

This person will be a client-facing strategist on the Sonder & Tell team. That means pulling together research, running storybook positioning workshops and turning insights and ideas into compelling creative strategies. They will pitch, run and lead our sprint offering – a 4-6 week brand strategy process for brands that need to move quickly – and support our wider team on bigger projects too.

Type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £45-55k
Location: London (in office Tues&Wed)

Take clients on a journey to find their story and give them the confidence to tell it.

Your responsibilities will be varied but will include:

  • Creative research – or as Kate calls it: “getting lost in the vortex”
  • Writing, delivering and summing up workshops for clients
  • Turning insights and ideas into a creative strategy for positioning, story and tone
  • Writing briefs for our copywriters to bring to life
  • Presenting strategies to clients

The ideal person will:

  • Have a strong belief in the power of stories and strategy to transform a brand 
  • Be a confident presenter who can command the attention of a room 
  • A quick thinker, able to challenge and probe ideas on the spot
  • Be culturally curious, pulling in a wide range of references to build ideas
  • Be a confident writer that can create briefs and spark ideas 
  • Be both a strategic and creative thinker that can think rationally and emotionally  
  • Be future-thinking – someone who can present new ideas that S&T can own. 
  • Be a team player who values being part of an agency
